Pillars of the Community participant Bill King writes an op-ed about his trust in Harris County elections.

Because of issues and controversies that arose in the 2020 and 2022 elections in Harris County, many have come to doubt the fairness and accuracy of how the county conducts its elections. However, much has changed in the last year. We believe those changes are for the better.

The other of us, Charles Blain, researches and writes about policies that promote opportunity and social mobility. I write frequently about ways to make government run leaner and more efficiently.

This year, we joined with other Harris County residents to stand for election integrity. Pillars of the Community is a bipartisan national effort led by election experts Ben Ginsberg and Bob Bauer to restore trust in elections. Through it, we gained access to the county election process to better understand the security and integrity of this election.
