As Election Day appraoches, we, Pillars of the Community in Wisconsin, are united in expressing our confidence in the integrity of our state’s election system.
In recent months, we reviewed policies and the work of local election officials to gain a better understanding of Wisconsin’s election safeguards and processes. We have seen firsthand the robust measures in place to ensure the accuracy, transparency, and security of our elections.
We heard the doubts and concerns from community members, directly questioned election officials, and believe that the public can have confidence in the professionalism of these officials and the quality of their work in preparing for the elections.
Wisconsin’s election system is fortified by several critical safeguards. For instance, voter identification is required, absentee ballots undergo multiple layers of verification, and all voting machines are securely isolated from the internet. Every vote is backed up by paper documentation, ensuring recounts are reliable and accurate and post-election audits confirm the results.
Our elections are overseen by nearly 2,000 clerks with the support of thousands of dedicated and trained poll workers who carry out their duties impartially and professionaly. These individuals, drawn from both political parties, are deeply committed to ensuring the election process runs smoothly and every vote is counted fairly.
As Pillars of the Community, we stand behind Wisconsin’s election officials and their efforts to maintain the integrity of the election system. We urge our fellow citizens to reject disinformation, support those working to ensure fair, free and secure elections, and confidently exercise their right to vote.
